Westminster High School Performing Arts Initiative - Elevating Our Youth

We believe in supporting youth arts, culture and education as well as fostering academic and performance-based education!.

The Westminster Community Foundation is thrilled to support the artistic, cultural and academic success for the Westminster (Westy) High School students that are engaged and participating in the performing arts. We believe in supporting youth arts, culture and education as well as fostering academic and performance-based education!.

WCF is elevating arts, culture and education by partnering with Westminster High School’s Performing Arts Department. As part of this 2023 initiative, WCF will be working to raise funds and resources to:

  • Outfit the Student Mariachi Band with new uniforms and instruments
  • Furnish Instruments for Under-resourced Students in Orchestra and Band
  • extra instructional time for students who want to learn how to better play, sing or act
  • provide 2 scholarships to 2 graduating seniors that have excelled, been leaders and mentors and stalwart participants within the performing arts at Westy!

Helping under-resourced students who may hail from financially-fragile households enjoy the wonders of the arts and instilling their culture within them is a motivating factor for WCF to find the necessary resources.

“Experiencing art in a multitude of forms is what makes life worth living for millions of people worldwide. Its study, creation, and use defines our individual and worldwide cultures and comprises an essential part of a holistic human education.” - Michael Linert, chair of the Westy HS Performing Arts Department

The Westy Performing Arts Department provides students with learning and performance opportunities in instrumental music (band, guitar, mariachi, piano and orchestra), choral music, theatre (acting, technical theatre and theatrical/event staging) and video cinema arts. We strive to educate and inspire students to grow in the areas of leadership, teamwork and creative expression while contributing to a positive school, family and community culture. Students learn the necessary skills to pursue performing arts either in college or in the professional performance community and also develop interpersonal tools that will aid them in whatever life path they choose.

A state-of-the-art facility gives students the opportunity to perform at professional levels both in front of and behind the curtain. Help the Westminster Community Foundation support these students as they reach for the sky!

The proceeds from this year’s Nancy & J Heil Tribute Golf Invitational will support this initiative, please consider playing, sponsoring or making a donation. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
